CHOC WALK 2006
CHOC WALK TEAM 2006 had a membership of 74 walkers and together our total sponsorship was approximately $6,000.00. This was our 3rd year and each year our team gets bigger and better. We all enjoyed a beautiful brisk walk through the Magic Kingdom and brunch after at the Tanner's house. Our very first fundraiser was held on July 15, 2006 and was a huge success. It was a magical night at the Anaheim Hilton. Guests were greeted by Erica and Randy Golden and Jennie Loomis at the registration desk that did a fantastic job. They were even referees during portions of the evening as our guests continued bidding on the amazing silent auction items donated for our event. The race was on for the highest bid and our guests became friends and foe many times as the night continued.
The Hilton supplied us with a delicious dinner and desert and we were honored to have Dr. Leonard Sender, Courtney Toney and Leith States as speakers for the evening.
Once dinner was over we were delighted by the DJ sounds and gaming tables and dealers from Black Tie Events. Our DJ kept everyone hopping from sounds on the dance floor to trivia questions that supplied the winners with some additional "Hugs Bucks".
Our first event enabled us to issue a check in the amount of $20,000 to Children's Hospital of Orange County for the continued development of the new Adolescent Cancer Unit.
For those of you who were able to join us, we thank you. For those of you not able to attend, we missed you and hope that you will be able to join us in 2007.
We are looking forward to our next event and hope that each year will just be bigger and better.
